Waipiata: 'shining waters'. Welcome to Waipiata, secluded and luxurious, located within the Mahurangi Harbour in the beautiful coastal environment of the Hauraki Gulf.
This stunning 5-star luxury bed and breakfast, hosted by its 4th generation New Zealand owners is set in 5 acres of lawn and gardens, surrounded by towering native trees and small tidal coves. Designed by renowned architect Noel Lane, Waipiata has the New Zealand Institute of Architects Award for Residential Architecture and is purpose designed to be an exclusive retreat hosting no more than two couples at a time Three guest rooms are available however for a larger single party booking.
Waipiata features New Zealand original art and sculpture and has been awarded EnviroGold for the initiatives taken to minimise its environmental footprint.
Just 35 minutes drive north of Auckland or 15 minutes by helicopter, Waipiata is in Mahurangi, very close to the Puhoi historic Bohemian village, Waiwera hot spas, Warkworth Village, Orewa, Matakana and Pakiri.
The word retreat is used too freely these days but Waipiata is a retreat starting with the winding country roads, the verdant farmland you cross above beautiful coastline and finally the absolute peace and beauty of Waipiata's strong construction and unique setting.

Waipiata is on the Mahurangi Harbour with open access to the coves and shoreline and kayaks, great walks and swimming. Short drives to Puhoi Historic Bohemian village; Zealandia, Terry Stringer's Sculpture Garden; Brick Bay Sculpture Park; Waiwera Hot Springs & Spa and wonderful regional beaches. 20 min drive to golf, vineyards, wineries, cafes, galleries. Snorkelling at Goat Island marine reserves and nearby fishing and cruising the Hauraki Gulf. Tawharanui for idyllic bays and beaches, bird sanctuaries, hiking and horseriding at Pakiri Beach.
