Fun, family friendly and affordable... welcome to Snowy Waters Lodge!
Built in 1941 as nurses accommodation for the Waimarino Hospital, Snowy Waters Lodge has been renovated and now offers the perfect venue for a party, a social club get-together or a family reunion.
Our setting is private and peaceful yet within walking distance of cafes, and our 2.5 acres of landscaped grounds and magnificent views of Mt Ruapehu provide a beautiful setting for weddings.
The Lodge lounge features a fireplace (wood supplied), 50" plasma TV with SKY, DVD player, PlayStation and stereo, while the adjoining games room has a pool table, foosball, a giant Connect Four, books, boardgames and cards.
Also for the kiddies their own tv room.
The open plan kitchen has a fridge/freezer, oven/stove, microwaves, toasters, zip/kettle, cutlery, crockery, pots/pans and cooking utensils.
Outdoors there's The Snowy Train, kids playground, mini-petanque, 2 heated spa pools and a pet goat!
Kick back with a good book in a hammock, enjoy a BBQ and drinks around the outdoor fireplace or relax and unwind after a day’s hiking, kayaking, skiing or snowboarding.
The Lodge has 10 bedrooms (sleeps 30). For bigger groups add on the 4 bedroom Villa (sleeps 10 - see listing 1887 for The Villa @ Snowy Waters Lodge). It is possible to book The Lodge, Villa or individual rooms separately.
10 guest rooms in the Lodge can accommodate up to 30 people in the following room types:
3 x double rooms (one double bed)
1 x twin room (two singles beds)
2 x triple rooms (set of bunks plus a single)
3 x quad rooms (two sets of bunks)
1 x family room (double plus two singles)
A bottom sheet, pillow and pillow case are provided. Additional linen can be hired at reception. Seperate male/female bathrooms each have three showers and three toilets.
During winter the Lodge is centrally heated. There is also a laundry and drying room. The Lodge is non-smoking.
Plenty of private off-street carparking.
Just 30 minutes from Turoa ski area or the Whanganui River. Other nearby activities include the Bridge to Nowhere, Tongariro Alpine Crossing, bushwalks, mountain bike tracks, fishing, birdwatching, golf and much more.
