Manuka Lodge defines a new style of accommodation in the Ohakune Ruapehu region. Newly built in 2008 it provides a first-rate alternative to a motel with many of the trappings of a luxury lodge. Perfectly located at the end if a quiet cul-de-sac, it offers a tranquil haven 10 minutes walk away from the shops bars and eateries of the bustling Ohakune Township. Only twenty minutes drive from Turoa ski-field (offering the longest ski runs in NZ) and forty minutes from the start of the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing. It is a perfect base for your central plateau stay winter or summer. We offer 4-star plus quality hotel style rooms, all with their own en-suite bathrooms, TV (freeview), mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. We also offer a very comfortable guest lounge with sumptuous sofas, sky TV and a beautiful stone-surround log fire place. A copious breakfast is provided every morning: cereal, yoghurt and fruit to start, with a fully cooked breakfast to follow, and homemade bread/toast to cap it off/mop it up. Fresh coffee too - A perfect start to a perfect day.

20 minutes away from Turoa ski-field. 40 minutes by shuttle to the start of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing - A unique day hike and one of the best in the world. 10 minute drive to nearest walking and hiking tracks. 10 minute drive to the beautifully appointed Waimarino Golf course. Plenty of great fishing rivers under an hour away (some of the best secret trout fishing spots in the North Island - just ask us!). Also it's the perfect spot to start your Whanganui River Journey from - a unique and enjoyable canoeing experience not to be missed! There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. Relax with a wine and enjoy the native bird song. All in all it's a leisure maximum.
