A piece of paradise. Gentle Annie really is the perfect spot to get off the beaten track, experience the real New Zealand and truly appreciate the South Island's West Coast. Open 365 days a year, the beach houses on our one-thousand acre property are set in surroundings where Aotearoa is as it used to be lush, unspoiled and natural. Bounded by the Tasman Sea, the mighty Mokihinui River and beautifully ancient Nikau-fringed native bush, our tranquil seaside accommodation is an excellent place to relax and enjoy your time away from a hectic life or set up base and explore our natural surroundings.
Just imagine sitting out on the verandah overlooking the Tasman, thousands of acres of lush native forest behind you, millions of miles of beautiful ocean in front. Gentle Annie is the place to get away all our houses are nestled amongst native forest and set well apart from each other with expansive views of coastline and bush, so that it feels like you're the last person on earth.
Available are three secluded self-contained holiday houses. Each is private, clean and comfortable with a good balance between the rustic and modern.
Additionally offered is the Rata Lodge - three rooms each with three queens and three singles available by the room or by the whole lodge.
Also enjoy traditional New Zealand seaside camping set in sheltered sites at the river mouth.
Being centrally located in the northern west coast, Gentle Annie is near the places of interest where day trips will get you to the magnificent Oparara Limestone Arches, the Kahurangi National Park, the Heaphy Track, the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, the Chasm Creek and Charming Creek walkways, the Denniston Plateau and the Cape Foulwind Seal Colony. In every season, enjoy some good quality time out at Gentle Annie.

Room Details:
Our three holiday homes vary between two and four bedrooms with a range of queens and singles.
The Rata Lodge can sleep a max. of 27 (3 rooms each with 3 queens and 3 singles) and is for rent by the bed, room or lodge.

Room Rates:
Tariffs are from $90-$140 in our holiday homes (for the first two adults - more adults/children are extra).
Tariffs start at $20 per adults in the Rata Lodge + more for children; a minimum room charge applies in some seasons.
